How Do I... Create A Logo
Smart Contractor allows you to customize the appearance of all printed customer forms and documents with your company logo or letterhead.
If you have a copy of your logo or letterhead image file (provided by your stationary supplier or graphic designer) on your computer hard drive, set the prompt for Company Logo File: in the Printed Forms Setup form to indicate the location of the file.
If you do not have a logo or letterhead image file, you can create one using "Microsoft Paint" that comes with Windows.
To use Microsoft Paint to create a logo/letter head image file, follow these steps:
1. Open Paint program
Click Start (lower left corner of screen, in the Windows task bar), Programs, Accessories, Paint.
2. Draw your logo
Draw your logo. Press F1 to read about how to use Paint.
3. Add text
To add text to your logo: click on the A button, then click in your logo at the point where you want to position the text. The font toolbar will appear; select a font, then start typing.
4. Save file
Click File then, Save, or Save As. Select a folder (i.e., "C:\Program Files\Smart Contractor"), and enter a name for the file.
5. Click Save
Click Save to save the file.
You can now set the prompt for Company Logo File: in the Printed Forms Setup form to indicate the location of the file. When you do, the logo that you created will appear at the top of printed forms (invoices, purchase orders, and work orders), and at the top of all merge documents which have the "<<Company Letterhead>>" merge field in them.
