Preferences Setup


To open the Preferences Setup form, click on Setup in the shortcut or drop-down menu, then click on Preferences.

The Preferences Setup form has the following prompts:

Select Last Job When Program Starts:
If you check this option, the last job you worked with will be selected in the Select Job prompt at the top of the main window when Smart Contractor starts.
Display Multiple Forms At Once:
Check this option to allow Smart Contractor to display multiple forms on the screen at a time. If this option is not checked, Smart Contractor will only make one form visible at a time.
Display Shortcut Menu:
Check this option to make Smart Contractor display the shortcut menu on the left side of the screen.
Show Tips At Startup:

Check this option to show the Tip of the Day each time Smart Contractor starts.

Display Dashboard:

Check this option to show the "Dashboard" in the Smart Contractor Main Window.

Use Large Fonts:

Check the "Use Large Fonts" option to make Smart Contractor use large fonts in all of the screen prompts.

Un-check this option to make Smart Contractor use smaller fonts.

Delineate Report Lines With:

Select a method for delineating the lines in printed reports:

  • No Delineation prints reports with no delineation.
  • Gray Bar delineates report lines with alternating gray bars.
  • Outline delineates report lines by outlining each column and row.
  • Underline delineates report lines by underlining each row.
Report Text Font:

Click the "Select" button to select a font to use in reports generated in Smart Contractor.

Note: Report columns do not resize dynamically in response to font size, and many reports are formatted with column widths set to work for font size 10, so if you select a font size over 10, this may cause truncation of the text in some columns in some reports.
