Import Vendor Quotes Form

To import product prices, select the Import Vendor Quotes option in the Get Quotes sub menu of the Purchase menu, or in the Utilities menu.

The Import Vendor Quotes form allows you to Import Vendor Quotes from emails that were sent to you in response to Smart Contractor quote requests that were emailed to the vendors. You can email vendor price quote requests by clicking the "Email" button in the Quote Request form.

When the vendor replys to the emailed quote request, you use this form to import the prices from the returned email. The products quoted by this method must already be in Smart Contractor.

If you want to import product lists from vendors that contain product/price information, you use the the Import Data form to do that.

To import the vendor's emailed price quotes, follow these steps:

Select the product list with the vendor's quoted prices,
Press CTRL-C to copy, then
Open the Import Vendor Quotes form,
Select the vendor in the prompt for Vendor,
Select the category in which to import the vendors prices (see below),
Click in the "Paste Text From Emailed Price Quote:" box in this form, and
Press CTRL-V to paste, then,
Click OK.

The import results will be displayed in the "Results" box.

You can optionally update any job's estimated prices by selecting a job in the "Update Estimate" prompt.

The Import Vendor Quotes form has the following prompts:

Vendor:

Select the vendor who has submitted the prices to be imported. You can store a separate set of prices (for all products) for each vendor.

Category:

Select the cost category of the prices to be imported. You can import and store a separate set of prices for each cost category.

The prices imported into the "Materials" cost category will appear in the "Materials Per Unit" column of the vendor prices grid in the Enter Products form. When you assign the product to an item in the Edit Estimate form, the program will plug the "Materials Per Unit" amount into the prompt for Materials in the Edit Estimate form.

Likewise with prices imported into each of the cost categories.

Update Estimate:

Select a job. When you import the price list, the program will set the vendor and estimated prices for the products imported.

Paste Text From Emailed Price Quote:

Click in this box and paste the copied product list with vendor quotes from the vendor's email.

Results:

This box displays the results of the import.

Click OK to import the prices (and update the job estimate - if one is selected).

Exit

Click Exit to exit the form.
