Pros: Smart contractor allows you to do so much! It is a complete business management solution that allows you to efficiently manage your business. To name a few, you can create estimates, schedule jobs, create contracts, create change orders, invoice and track all the job costs through the many reports available. Another big feature is that the program is integrated with Quickbooks!

Cons: Although not a con, Smart Contractor has so much to offer I haven't been able to experience all the features and benefits.

Overall Recommendation: We did a lot of research prior to purchasing this program and we couldn't be happier with the results. Our customers now compliment us on our detailed project management! Smart Contractor has allowed us to grow and I would recommend it to any company...unless you are the competition!

"Smart Contractor is one outstanding program!!! I investigated several constructions management software programs before choosing Smart Contractor, including Ubid & UDA. Smart Contractor was definitely the right choice. The flow of data from one document to the next is awesome. From: customers, to job site data, estimates, contracts and proposals, scheduling, work orders, vendor quotes, invoices and payments, and much more, the data flows from one document or report to the next. All the forms are built in and pre-formatted, with the flexibility to manipulate forms to my specific needs. Takes a little getting used to because it does so much, but you can learn the basic functions quickly and the more advanced capabilities are well worth becoming proficient at.

Smart Contractor will help deliver a level of professionalism to your customers that can really give you an edge, while making your office work easier and more organized. I highly recommend Smart Contractor to both the small and very larger construction companies.

"Hello everyone....I have been reading alot about the mystery of what software to purchase. Well I hope i can shed some light on this topic for all. I have tseted about 15 programs from scheduling to management to estimating and takeoff softwares and I have come to a conclusion that you will need 2 and you will be set. Now I am a micro manager and think I could be a little extreme sometimes but i wanted a program that could estimate the project then track all aspects from proposals to change orders to scheduling to quote requests to emailing schedules to quick books intergrating to emailing letters to AIA documenting to accounting, reports, and more. Well after many months of downloading and testing I would suggest a program from SmartContractor.com, it is awesome. I would also like to share a takeoff program called Planswift, this program is and has been a money maker for our GC Company. Check these programs out and let me know what your thoughts are. Hope this helps with evryones software searches. By the way, cost estimating programs are not so accurate, you end up adjusting all your costs anyway so might as well just start your own data base."

“Smart Contractor is an awesome business management software. If you value your time, effort and money Smart Contractor is the program to use.

The features of Smart Contractor are endless. The program's ability to manage a project has increased our companies volume by 30%. Being able to quickly and accurately put together job proposals, turn the proposal into the correct purchase orders and coordinate a job schedule alone have cut my office time in half. This has allowed me to see more clients which in turn means more volume.

Smart Contractor has also limited my estimating mistakes by its ability to directly write the proposal from the job estimate. This means that when the client and I sit down to go over their proposal, if an item is not in the proposal... they were not charged for it.

Smart Contractor also allows our company to monitor, adjust, and repetitively perform the same project time and again. It has allowed us the opportunity to break down jobs by phase and make appropriate adjustments price wise to control profits. Now we can see where we make money and more importantly, where we are not.

Smart Contractor's flexibility is great. Most everything in the program can be adjusted to fit your companies set-up. From mark-up and overhead % to being able to create custom documents and forms.

The support staff at Smart Contractor has been second to none!!! I'm always able to get a hold of someone in time of need and I've never had a problem go unsolved. Their willingness to take in feed back and better the program is amazing. Their true goal is to make this the best program that it can be.

“Smart Contractor is better than any of the other Quickbooks add-ons I have found. The estimating and scheduling sections of the software are useful and user friendly. We are finding in our office that the estimating section saves us considerable time. The versatility it allows is very good for us since we perform several types of construction---new construction, remodels, additions and commercial. It allows us to design estimates around the specific kind of project we are doing. Having the estimate feed directly into the Schedule cuts the time spent preparing a schedule significantly.

One of the best things I have found with Smart Contractor is the tech support. Anytime I have had difficulty---often times it is user error---Tech Support has responded promptly and to my satisfaction. That is important to me. My workload can’t afford the backlog delays in response can cause.

The Help menu really works and is designed in such a way that it is not difficult to find answers to questions."
