    Connecting To QuickBooks

    Question

We have multiple users connected to one Smart Contractor database. But, SC only allows me, the Admin, to have the ability to connect to QuickBooks. Is this an SC access issue or do I need to consult with our server admin?

    Answer

The first thing to note is that SC allows you to set up QuickBooks integration separately for each user who runs Smart Contractor. The reason it does this is because some companies only want particular users to be able to update their QuickBooks data, so they leave those users un-connected to QB, but still able to make changes in SC.

Then the "admin" user - the accountant, will update QuickBooks in batch update mode. It just gives them a little more control of what's going on in QuickBooks.

The other reason it works this way is because not all computers have the same path to the QuickBooks data folder. For example, it might be on drive "M:/" on one user's computer, and drive "Z:/" on a different computer.

So, first thing you need to do is go into the Setup QuickBooks Integration on each computer and set up the QuickBooks integration. If that doesn't work, then let me know, and we'll take it from there.
